Community First, Author Forward
We’re not just another publisher—we’re a nonprofit community that believes writers deserve fair compensation, transparent processes, and genuine partnership. Here’s how we’re revolutionizing fiction publishing, one story at a time.
Our Publishing Philosophy
Community First, Corporation Second
We started as writers frustrated with predatory publishing practices. Traditional publishers offer little support and keep most profits. Vanity publishers charge authors thousands upfront. We chose a different path.
Our Mission: Every course sold, every workshop attended, every coaching session booked directly funds higher author payments. We’re building an ecosystem where education revenue supports fair publishing compensation.
Our Promise:
No Hidden Fees – Authors never pay us; we pay authors
Transparent Operations – You see exactly where your money goes
Democratic Decision-Making – Our community votes on major policy changes
Sustainable Growth – We grow author payments as our education revenue grows
The Worldsmyths Process
From Community Member to Published Author
Unlike traditional publishers who accept cold submissions from strangers, our authors come from our community. You’re not just a manuscript—you’re family.
Phase 1: Call for Submissions Opens
Manuscript Calls → Community Champion Review → Publishing Team Decision
We announce specific novella calls (current: Spicy Fantasy, Cozy Fantasy) through our Discord and website. Community Champions do initial reviews, then our publishing team makes final decisions. We’re looking for great stories with potential, not the most perfected.
Phase 2: Collaborative Development
Developmental Editing → Author Collaboration → Line & Copy Editing
This isn’t traditional “editing”—it’s collaboration. Our editors work with you to strengthen your vision, not impose theirs. Multiple rounds of feedback, open communication, and respect for your voice throughout.
Phase 3: Professional Production
Cover Design → Interior Formatting → Final Proofreading → Pre-Launch Setup
We handle all production elements while keeping you involved in decisions. Cover concepts, marketing copy, launch strategy—you’re part of the process, not waiting for updates.
Phase 4: Author Set-Up
Website → Newsletter → Social Media
We walk you through the process of the author infrastructure you’ll need to manage your book and grow your audience. We’ll help you set up your website, a newsletter automation, and set up social media.
Phase 5: Strategic Launch & Distribution
ARC Campaign → Wide Release → Ongoing Marketing Support
We distribute through Amazon KDP, Draft2Digital, and Smashwords for maximum reach. Our marketing includes ARC campaigns, social media promotion, and leveraging our community network. Plus, our authors cross-promote each other’s work.
